Following the confinement rules established in Osmangazi, Turkey, people above 65 years and below 20 years old are prohibited to go out for any reasons, apart from emergencies. This is a big issue for some families when provisioning food and other essential items. The local authorities interfere at this moment and distribute food supplies for those in need. Citizens can demand this services via email or telephone, which at the moment has been used by 34,414 families, while Osmangazi Municipality has proactively deliver basic goods to 132,774 families.
On local economy matters, the shop owners that have been negatively impacted from this depressed time are also reached out so as to contribute to their domestic economy. Read more here (in Turkish)
